Auctioning items off via the internet is a very common activity. Everybody goes through at least one phase of "I bought it on eBay!" where somehow they manage to spend half of a paycheck on things that they probably would have bypassed at a garage sale but found irresistible on the internet. Buying and selling items through online auction portals like eBay and Yahoo! Auctions not only is something that everybody has tried, but it is something that some people actually manage to make a good living at. Online auctions are now so popular that there is even auto auction software for people who find buying and selling less of a hobby and more of a way of life.
Typically auto auction software is something that bidders are interested in more than sellers. Sellers already have tons of auction software to help them automate their processes. Bidders, however, have had a harder time finding programs to keep track of everything for them. eBay has a simple system built in where you bid the maximum amount you can afford and then wait to see if anybody outbids that by the time the auction is over (you hide the actual amount you are willing to bid), but if somebody outbids you while you are away from the computer then you are out of luck. Another feature that is popular with auto auction software for bidders is that it sometimes has features built in that will "troll" eBay (or Yahoo! Auctions) for items that you are interested in and will let you know when they come up for sale.
Auction Auto Bidder is one such auto auction software program for bidders. There are three editions available, the basic, the standard and the professional. Depending on what kind of bidder you are (or want to be) you will choose the version that is right for you. Obviously the professional has the most built in features, but the basic edition also has a lot to offer. The Basic edition of this program offers auction monitoring, will keep track of up to four eBay accounts, and lets you filter your search results to only the items that you want to see.
Another auto auction software program that is very popular is the EZ Sniper. The EZ Sniper boasts that it will help users win many more auctions. With EZ Sniper you put in the maximum amount that you want to bid on an item and then the EZ Sniper watches the auction for you. If your maximum bid has not been reached then the program will place your bid in the final seconds of the auction, ensuring your victory.
Unfortunately auto auction software is vilified among members of web auction portals as a form of cheating, so whether or not you choose to use auto auction software is up to you. It really just depends on how important winning that item is to you. After all, isn't half the fun of going to an auction getting caught up in the excitement?
Charity Auction Software Tip #1
If you are buying something from an online auction site you will always want to check out the seller. Look into their sales ranking and be sure to read any reviews that have been posted. Obviously new sellers might not have much, if anything, posted about them but that doesn’t mean you can’t find out as much as you can. See what other items they are selling and if they have sold items previously. Knowing all you can about a seller will often help you make your final decision as to whether or not you should buy what they are selling. |
Charity Auction Software Tip #2
If you are selling something on an online auction site you will always want to remain as honest as possible. Sure it is easy to sell something for a dollar and then charge an arm and a leg for shipping and handling costs, but that will quickly get you a bad ranking and negative feed back. Always follow up on orders promptly and keep the communication constant with your buyer. The more honest and up front you are with your buyers the more of them you will get. |
Charity Auction Software Tip #3
If you are putting up auction ads on your site to earn some sort of affiliate revenue, make sure to gear the items being sold toward the content of your site. If you have a website about fishing, you won’t want to be selling Hello Kitty dolls. Keep the items content specific and you are more likely to see those commissions increase. |
